Established in 2000 and based in Kroonstad, Delta Seed
specializes in conventionally bred, NON-GMO and GMO maize hybrids that deliver
consistent performance under heat, drought, and disease stress.
We saw a huge gap in the seed industry that needed to be filled and decided to do so. We knew there were only a few ways of doing it. Our main technique is the unique genetics we use, giving the ultimate greater stability, higher yield and affordable prices effect to all farmers.

Founded in 2000 by the renowned plant breeder Dr. At du
Toit, Delta Seed has established itself as a trusted name in the African seed
industry. Dr. du Toit continued his pioneering breeding work until the age of
90, laying the foundation for the company’s legacy of innovation and
excellence.
In 2022, ownership passed to George Barnard and Pieter
Rademeyer, who continue to drive Delta Seed forward with a commitment to
sustainable agriculture and cutting-edge plant breeding.
Research and Production
Delta Seed operates two research nurseries in Kroonstad
and Ventersburg, with a modern seed processing plant in Kroonstad. From
here, all orders and deliveries are coordinated, ensuring efficiency and
reliability.
Our seed production operation spans across Limpopo,
Lichtenburg, and Komatipoort. Delta
Seed is capable to meet the growing demand while maintaining strict quality
standards.
